How We Investigate Your Case

Picture: Navy Training Manual "Basic Military Requirements"

Every day the attorneys at Belluck & Fox are involved in prosecuting claims by seaman, firemen, laborers, machinist mates, boilermakers, pipecoverers, electricians and others with mesothelioma. While these exposures happened a long time ago, we can still investigate the manner in which you were exposed. Even if you don’t recall the manufactures of the equipment used on the vessels, Belluck & Fox can find this information. We can obtain documents through the Naval Archives in Washington, D.C. and identify the manufactures of all of the equipment on your ship(s). We also have access to a database of testimony from other servicemen who may have served on your vessel(s).

The investigation of your case has four major components. We covered a few in the paragraph above, but the full list is:

  1. At Belluck & Fox, we obtain actual Naval ship records from the Naval archives in Washington, D.C. With inspection records and drawings, we identify the companies who sold asbestos-containing equipment to your ship.
  2. We contact shipmates you sailed with as well as your ship's reunion committees to find shipmates our personal investigation couldn't.
  3. We also obtain ship muster rolls to locate shipmates.
  4. We then combine the materials described here with our own extensive collection of records and documents about asbestos products to help you and your family obtain justice.
